It's me, Yonic

Welcome to the legacy version of the Yonic Corner!
This version of my blog has been made specifically for old browsers and for those who like to browse the old net while using Windows 98 or Mac Classic.

The contents of this version are not much different from the modern version, but some articles from the modern version will not appear in this one due to technical limitations.

Recommended software

This blog officially supports the minimal following browsers and operating systems:

  • Windows 9x/NT 4: Internet Explorer 5, Firefox 1.5.0.9, K-Meleon 1.5.4, Opera 9, Netscape 7.2, RetroZilla 2.2
  • Mac OS 9 (Classic): Netscape 7.0.2, Classilla 9.3.4 Beta
  • Linux: Firefox 1.5.0; Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake works perfectly. SUSE Linux 8.0 works almost perfectly.

Your browser does not support jQuery, but that's okay! You'll hardly notice a difference without it.

The music player supports versions of Flash Player 6 and higher. Use Flash Player 8 or 9 for Windows and Flash Player 6 for Mac. Flash Player 7 may be used, but is not recommended due to it causing potential crashes, particularly in virtual machines.
If you're running a modern browser, an integrated version of Ruffle will be used for the music player.

Videos require the QuickTime Web plugin, and most videos target QuickTime 2 and 3, but it's recommended that you install the latest supported version. The most modern versions should automatically install the necessary plugins for all browsers. Since Linux doesn't support QuickTime, you can use MPlayer or VLC plugins, the latter is far more recommended.

Recommended screen resolution

A resolution of 1024x768 pixels or greater is recommended to view the blog. I might try to make it look good on 800x600 in the future.

As for number of colors, 256 colors is enough to see it clearly, but high color/16-bit color/thousands of colors or higher is recommended.
